NTE: Neverness to Everness is barely four months old, and it's already moving fast. Version 1.3 launched August 19, bringing a full main-story chapter, two new playable characters, and a new district to explore — the first real test of how quickly Hotta Studio can sustain content after a strong launch quarter.

Zankou, Linko, and the new district of Fogden

Zankou headlines the update as an Incantation DPS built around enhanced Redirect Skills and sustained damage output, giving the roster another option for players who prioritize damage-over-time playstyles. Linko joins alongside her as the update's second new character.

The story content is anchored by Fogden, a new district added to the game's map, alongside a run of Summer Time Events layered on top of the main story push. Nanally, meanwhile, returned as a rerun in the limited "Ichi-daime" board, playable as an Anima DPS — good news for players who missed her original banner window.

What's coming before the month is out

NTE isn't slowing down for September. Starting September 9, Linko gets her own limited banner, "Surfing All Channels!," which comes bundled with new cosmetic skins. Running alongside it, Hotori returns in the "Misty Tipsy Style" limited board, a character generally regarded as a top-tier Cosmos Support pick.

Beyond that, Hotta Studio has already signaled Version 1.4 for September 30 — meaning NTE is on pace for a new major version roughly every six weeks since its April 29 launch.

Version 1.3 recap

  • Zankou — new Incantation DPS Operator focused on Redirect Skills
  • Linko — new character, gets her own "Surfing All Channels!" banner September 9
  • Fogden — new explorable district added to the map
  • Nanally rerun — Anima DPS, Ichi-daime limited board
  • Hotori rerun — "Misty Tipsy Style" board, arrives alongside Linko's banner
  • Version 1.4 — targeted for September 30

For a game that launched into a genre already crowded with urban-fantasy gacha titles, NTE's early cadence — a real district, a free-flowing rerun schedule, and cross-media collaborations with Persona 5 Royal and Porsche already logged — suggests Hotta Studio is treating the first year as a full-court press to establish the game before the novelty wears off.
